If your building is like mine, you have hundreds of computers to keep track of and very little time to do it. One thing that has made my life easier in a small way is keeping all of the clocks on my computers synchronized. “Why bother with syncing the clocks?” you might be asking yourself. There are many reasons. Read on…

Catchy title, isn’t it?
This morning I while I was downstairs having breakfast, Holly (the puppy we are training to be a service dog), snuck upstairs and I didn’t notice. Normally, this wouldn’t have been a big deal, but I didn’t realize that my wife was in the shower and wasn’t able to supervise Holly. Being a ten-month-old pup, Holly still requires LOTS of supervision.
When I came upstairs, I knew something was up when I noticed that Emmet (our five year old black lab) had a bunch of white feathers stuck to him. I walked into the bedroom and was greeted by a horrifying site: the top of our bed was covered in four inches of white down feathers. Holly was not in the middle of it, but I could tell she was our culprit because she was laying on the floor next to the bed and was also covered in white feathers.
Apparently, while she was unsupervised she snuck upstairs and shredded the small down filled neck pillow that my wife keeps on the bed. She took great joy in seeing the feathers fly because when I found the remains of the pillow, it was completely devoid of any feathers.
Needless to say, I’ve been vacuuming up feathers all day!
Oh well.

Yesterday did not start out to be a good day. When my alarm went off, I did what I always do: I walked downstairs, still half asleep and in the dark, to let the dogs out and start my day. The way our stairwell is built, you go down about 10 steps to a landing, turn 90 degrees, and go down three more to the main entry of our house. I apparently only got to about step 8 when my brain told me that I was already at the first landing. I stepped out and went down three steps at once. Needless to say, I fell and hurt my ankle.
After an hour of feeling stupid and an hour of trying to decide if I was hurt bad enough to go see the doctor, I finally decided I should stop at the Urgent Care on my way to work. At the Urgent Care they did three x-rays and examined me carefully and decided that all I had done is sprain my ankle. They put me in a gel cast and told me to stay off of it for a few days. I was lucky. I could have easily broken my leg with that kind of fall.
The ankle is a lot better today. I can walk okay but if I move my ankle too far through the normal range of motion, I get the sharp pain shooting up my leg. If I walk with somewhat of a still ankle, it hardly hurts at all.
As I said in my title, “Just call me Grace.”
