Billy the Service Dog — 1999 to 2011
My friend Jenny was paired with her Helping Paws service dog Billy for 10 years. Billy died last week at the age of 12 from complications of a surgery. Billy is half brother to my dog Jordan.
You were an amazing dog Billy, and there is no doubt that you will missed. Rest well.
I strongly believe in the mission of Helping Paws and I’ve been involved with the organization for 14 years. I hope you’ll consider making a donation in memory of Billy to the Helping Paws Alpha/Gator fund, which is a fund to help these fantastic dogs get help with large bills, such as emergency vet bills. Visit http://www.helpingpaws.org. Your donation is tax-deductible.
This photo is one I took of Billy when I was visiting Jenny’s cabin about a year and a half ago.

I’m Back!
I know I haven’t posted much to this blog in the last year. Hopefully, I’ll be able to fix that now. I’m making some changes to things that should make it easier for me to post more regularly.
Stay tuned.
This photo is a self-portrait I took almost a year ago now when I was traveling for work. I was going for the dark, moody look. What do you think? Did I achieve it?
Jordan the Old Golden Retriever
Jordan the Golden Retriever just keeps going….and going…..and going! He will turn 14 in October, which is ancient for a dog his size. He continues to do well, despite his cognitive dysfunction syndrome. He is pleasantly “blank” a lot of the time. He just wants to be petted, fed, and then sleep.
Jordan is a retired Helping Paws Service Dog that I adopted.
